Nationally Certified Massage Therapist NCBTMB, AMTA liability insured, Active Release Techniques Provider, Certified Pre, Peri and Postnatal Massage Therapist, Certified Infant Massage Instructor.
I am a massage therapist because I enjoy working with people as we journey in health. I am always honored being the apple that keeps the doctor away or a stone on your path towards a more complete wellness.
Massage allows me many treasures. The Joy of bringing a sigh of relief when releasing a clients tensions.
The Peace of guiding the overwhelmed and stressed into a state of
calm. Satisfaction of finding and solving the causes and symptoms of complex
conditions. The fascination of working with and ever learning the intricacies of the human body and human condition. The sense of accomplishment of running my own small business. The sense of community being involved in and getting to know all the great folks in Chittenden County. And the sense of Unity, knowing that I am a part of a much greater whole.
Training: I have obtained over 1500 hours of training in massage therapy. I attained an Associates Degree in Applied Technology in Massage Therapy Studies at Clover Park Technical College in Washington State in 2004. There I graduated at the top of my class and on the Dean's List. My studies included: anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and pathology as well as hundreds of hours spent in hands on learning of various massage modalities. I learned the art and application of sports massage, myofascial release, hot stones massage, spa services, infant massage, pregnancy massage, healing touch, Reiki, neuromuscular reeducation and more. Specific training focused on the care and treatment of injuries and conditions. I obtained licensure in Washington State and Certified nationally. Vermont currently has no licensing for massage therapy. After school I was employed in a Chiropractic Wellness Center where I honed and developed my diagnostic, and hands on skills. While working, I continued on with my education. I trained and became credentialed as an Active Release Provider for all body regions (see Active Release Page). I spent two years training with renowned doctors and therapists who are world leaders in chiropractic rehabilitation. With this education, I co-managed our clinics rehab center. Right out of school I took an intensive certification for Pre, Peri
and Postnatal Massage and I trained to become an Infant Massage
Instructor (see Pregnancy/Infant Massage Page). These I integrated right away into my Doula practice assisting families to have family centered self-empowered pregnancies and births.
Last summer I followed my Heart here to Burlington; where I am settling in quite nicely. Vermonters have been wonderfully welcoming. In this place with such depth and opportunity I have been exploring and expanding deeper into what massage and healing work truly means for me. It has been a pleasure and an adventure starting up my own practice and now a day spa. I am honored to be a part of this incredible community. Thank you sincerely, each and every one of you.
